PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Bowe's professional career is well documented in the archives of Sports Illustrated (2 covers), The Ring Magazine (9 covers), and KO (11 covers). The Ring Magazine named Bowe fighter of the year for 1992. Bowe kept busy in his early professional years, fighting 13 times in 1989 alone. He continued to build his reputation by beating some of the biggest names in his weight class, including Pinklon Thomas, Bert Cooper, and Tyrell Biggs. In 1992 he defeated Evander Holyfield for the Undisputed World Title. This rivalry with Holyfield continued for 3 more years and ended with Bowe knocking out Holyfield in the eighth round of their third and final match-up. Bowe has been retired since 1996 with a professional record that ranks as one of the best at 43 wins and only 1 loss (33 KO's). Bowe jokingly says he will come out of retirement if the price is right.
